Library Visit

OMG! Time flies when your having fun!
Today is Wednesday, October 20, 2010. I had an appointment with the Assistant Director of the library at 8:00 am. The library doesn't open until 9:00am but the Assistant Director was gracious enough to let me in early. This early entry allowed me to snap photos of the libraries technology before it became crowded with patrons. I spent about 2 hours perusing the library and snapping photos. As always I had a super wonderful conversation with the Assistant Director regarding the type of safety devices used on DVDs. The library uses what is called a Tattle Tag which is a device placed on an item and if it is not removed an alarm will go off. This library does not have security gates so the "Tattle Tag" in this library is actually a device that if not removed from the DVD case - the patron will not be able to open it. We had lots of Ha! Ha's!

This was a good morning as I gathered together a great deal of interesting information needed to complete this assignment. I will be sorting through this information and compiling it for my next post. This library comes alive around 9:30am. I was so busy snapping photos that when I came back down to reality the place was buzzing with activity. Some of the patrons were reading newspapers while others headed straight for the computers. What a wonderful library! Looking forward to posting next time. See ya all!
